The fifth meeting of the FISH-i Africa Task Force was held in Mauritius, 14th – 16th June 2016.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the eight FISH-i member states and was notable as the first Task Force meeting attended by new member Somalia. For the first time the Task Force welcomed an observer from a flag state to the open session of the meeting – Dr Chumnarn Pongsri, Director of Fisheries Foreign Affairs Division, Thailand.
Observers were also present from the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), Growth, Enterprise, Employments and Livelihoods (GEEL) and INTERPOL.
