We are very pleased to announce that Zahor El Kharousy has joined the Board of TMT, bringing with him extensive experience in Tanzanian, East African and international cooperation in fisheries management.
Zahor has previously served as Director of the Tanzania Deep Sea Fishing Authority, taking an active role in the establishment and operations of the FISH-i Africa Task Force and representing Tanzania at the IOTC, IWC, and the Maputo Declaration.
He is currently the Managing Director of the Zanzibar Fisheries Company, a state owned company tasked with the engagement and promotion of sustainable commercial fisheries in the Zanzibar Archipelago, and is an advisor to the Tanzanian and Zanzibar Governments on the Blue Economy and ongoing Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) intergovernmental negotiations of the United Nations.
